    Brotherly Tarts

    5 out of 5, reviewed on 02.24.2015

In Rochester, mincemeat is a seasonal item. My brother had an operation and his favorite gift from me is my mincemeat tarts. I was so upset that I couldn't find any and turned to Google. I was more than pleasantly surprised to see that you carried it and the brand that I buy. He received them this morning and already he tells me they are 1/2 devoured. Many thanks.

    Better with Rum

    5 out of 5, reviewed on 01.27.2015

I use a jar it to make a fruitcake every Christmas. It makes a delicious fruitcake when a small amount (up to 1/4 cup) of rum is added to the recipe.

None Such Mincemeat is great for pies and cookies. Wlamart's service was astounding. Our order of 8 jars included 3 which were unacceptable. Upon advising Walmart of the matter, replacements were shipped within a day. One cannot ask for more responsive service than that!

    the best mincemeat...

    5 out of 5, reviewed on 12.28.2013

Nonesuch mincemeat was what my mothers home had she was young, was in my home when I was young, was in my children's home when they were young, and is in the grandkids home. At the holiday season Mincemeat cookies are a tradition and a couple mincemeat pies thru-out the year for a wonderful treat.

Nonesuch is my favorite brand of mincemeat.

    5 out of 5, reviewed on 09.14.2014

I've used Nonesuch Mincemeat for over 30 years for my pies at Thanksgiving and Christmas. As it is a seasonal item and the grocery stores usually sell out of Nonsuch brand first, I've tried the other brands and still prefer Nonesuch. I usually top the pie with whipped cream. Very delicious for dessert and very yummy with coffee in the morning.

The price and the quick delivery were excellent.
Packing was insufficient as two jar lids were dented and one was leaking. Packing was made up of brown paper ONLY and should have been made with a more cushioned material.

I had never had mincemeat before None Such, and wanted to try it more "traditional", as in, with beef. It does have a BIT in (although you can't taste it, it isn't pieces, it's just the suet) and gives a lovely savory flavor and smooth palate.

    Mincemeat filling

    5 out of 5, reviewed on 01.11.2014

If you like mincemeat pie. This is excellent. It's getting hard to find mincemeat pie during the holidays. Just buy a pie crust already made. Pour in the filling. Set oven at 350 for about 55 minutes and your pie is ready. Then I found this product at Walmart. Best right out of the oven. Or slightly cooled would be best. Great taste if you like the flavor of mincemeat. Glad I found it at Walmart...

    Mincemeat in a Jar

    5 out of 5, reviewed on 11.24.2013

Thanksgiving is not Thanksgiving w/o a mincemeat pie. Wish Walmart sold it in package form but if this is all you have, I'm buying it. One jar for Nov. and one for Dec.. If I make cookies I may need another jar. Love this stuff. Could eat it right out of the jar.

    Great Product But Packing Lacking

    5 out of 5, reviewed on 02.03.2014

My mother is English and I have grown up having mincemeat tarts every year for Christmas. Mom always used the None Such brand and I am ecstatic to follow her in this tradition. The None Such brand is excellent. Quite tasty! I could not believe it though, when my order came with 3 of the 10 heavy jars broken, two other jars air seals broken with one of their lids off the jar and the other so loose that it could have easily fallen off.

The only reason for this incident is the poor packing material used. The heavy jars were simply wrapped in brown paper, with no bubble-wrap, and placed in a plastic bag. There was only a little more brown paper to take up the space in the box. I ordered these in spite of reading previous reviews about the lack of proper packing to ensure safe delivery, because Walmart had the best price and I thought that after the other complaints had been made about broken jars being delivered, that they surely would have made the proper correction by switching to bubble wrap. They did not! The broken jars were replaced quickly. Once again the heavy jars were wrapped solely in brown paper. Walmart should make sure that glass jars are always wrapped securely in bubble wrap to ensure safe deliveries in order to not inconvenience their customers.

Ordered this product twice. Both times a mess

    1 out of 5, reviewed on 12.21.2013

Ordered 1 jar of product, it was sent with no packing, no bubble wrap around jar, no securing of jar lid. Product poured out over bottom of box. Ordered a 2nd time - product came in the same condition; with jar lid open and product covering bottom of box. Poor packaging will preclude my ever ordering from Walmart again.

In my opinion, this is the best mincemeat on the market. It reminds me of the mincemeat of my childhood, when I would be sent to the store to buy a pint, which was hand dipped from a barrel by the grocer. It is difficult to obtain locally. I am glad Walmart.com carries it.

Is this mince meat filling ready to use? Do you have to add anything to it or just dump it in your p
    Asked on 11.21.2013

My great-great aunt always made homemade mince meat pies and unfortunately she did them from scratch and we do not have a recipe and it is hard to find a good mince meat pie fresh or frozen.

    • jkmnop

I always just dump it in a homemade pie shell. You can top it with cut out pie dough (cookie cutters) or strips. Delicious! (I posted some pictures)

    • Susiekent

Yes, this mincemeat is ready to use. You do not have to add anything to the mincemeat although I add chopped up walnuts sometimes. Empty the contents into your pie crust, top with additional crust, brush with an egg mixture of one egg and one tablespoon of water beaten, and sprinkle with fine sugar and bake. Guidelines for baking are on the side of the jar. This is a superb mincemeat. Enjoy!

    • mincemeatlover

I add 1/3 cup sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla when I mix all this with the mincemeat and pour in crust I dot it with 1/2 stick parkay margarine...put crust on to ,,brush with water and sprinkle with sugar...then bake as directed...............GREAT,....

    • TheUpman

With None Such Mincemeat in the jar, all you have to do is to place it in your pie to bake. It is very simple and always comes out delicious!

    • LittleNipper

the jars are ready to use, the boxes you have to prepare.

    • holidaybaker

Mince Meat filling is ready to use. Just dump the filling into a pie crust and bake. It's actually quite good.

    • Youmakethingsdifficult

You can put in the pie shell as is, or add some diced cooked apples to make a larger pie. My mother often laced it with a shot of brandy.

Is there any meat in a mince meat pie.?
    Asked on 12.22.2014

Is there any meat in a mince meat pie ? I'm serious, I've always heard of it but know nothing about it . john

    • Lilah

This pie filling does have meat. It's beef and it's listed in your ingredients above.I imagine the beef is dried like beef jerky then chopped and added to the other ingredients. If you haven't eaten it before then you should try it because it's pretty tasty! Hope this helps!
