Lasko is the best Fan in the marketplace

    5 out of 5, reviewed on 06.09.2014

I love this fan, I have had a lasko fan for over 6 years and still works great since the day I bought it. I bought this modle because it has a remote and I put it in my bedroom on the far side of my bed and I love that I can control the on and off plus the speed and not even have to get up to do so. I like the metal face grill better than the plastic, which is on my older fan, plus the face grill is easier to put on than the older modle I already have. I had already recommended said fan to two friends and they have purchased their own. I personally believe that their is not a better pedalstal type fan out there for the value. So to all of you who are checking said fan out I know you will be happy with it as I am. Just remember the motor part connects to the pole that leads into the pedalstal base and will sometimes come loose if moved around alot, all you have to do is pul it back up and tighten the bolt. Simple Simple Simple. BUY THIS FAN YOU WONT REGRET IT..

    Wake up shivering ....

    5 out of 5, reviewed on 07.17.2014

The fan is great. I used to wake up at night very hot and flustered (even with the AC on) but now I usually wake up shivering and I have to grab the remote from my bedside and set the fan to a lower speed.

It's not a soft/breezy fan. This fan is loud and has a strong wind. I'm the type that needs "white noise" to sleep, so no, this is not what I'd call a "quiet" fan but I prefer that it's not a quiet fan, otherwise every noise in the house (doors opening/closing, someone in the bathroom, etc.) will wake me up.

I've included a link to a video so you can have an idea of how loud the fan is. I zoomed in on the camera, I'm not right in front of the fan. I'm actually sitting on my bed, about ten steps from the fan so it's not louder simply because I'm directly in front of it, although it seems that way because I zoomed in to zero in on the fan itself and not the wall or background.

Bottom line, if you're hot-natured like me and if you need white noise to sleep, this is the fan for you!

    my review on my purchase

    5 out of 5, reviewed on 04.09.2014

I love the product I bought from Walmart (Lasko 18" Stand Fan with a Remote Control in Black). I was a bit hesitate on buying this particular product because I never bought a 5 blade fan before but after reading some of the reviews, I decide to take a chance on it and to my big surprise, I love it. It has a very strong breeze when you turn it on and it has four step of blows and the higher you get the better it blows and I never had a fan as great as this. I would totally recommend this to my families and friends or whoever asks for my opinion on this particular fan. I love it and it runs every day at a second speed which is enough for our bedroom, that is where we have it. I am happy to have taken a chance on this fan and now I don't have any regrets on buying it. I would love to buy another for my living room, which I am still deciding on and probably would buy it because I just love this fan. Taking a chance on this particular fan was the best decision I ever made. I am a happy customer.

    Best breeze ever

I purchased one of these fans for my kitchen, found out it had remote when I got it home, a huge plus for me. But the best feature after having owned so many fans over the years, this one has just the right amount of air movement for cooling breeze constantly, not too strong like the big floor models, not so weak like some other similar size models...I think they hit on just the right blade tilt for this one, and the three speeds are just right for the job I demand of them, speed and on-off controlled by remote but rotating the fan has to be set at the fan itself. Bottom line, I liked this one sooo much that I just purchased another for my bedroom and love both of them!!! Thank you Lasko for such a good product and thank you Walmart for providing it to us!

    love the remote...

this is a very quiet fan that moves a lot of air....the remote control was the deciding factor for me...the few extra dollars was soooo worth it for the convenience...five blades are way better than three for creating the circulation I was looking for, and the color makes it blend into the room more....love it !!!!

    Great Fan

I've only have had it for a few weeks now, but a lot better then the old 16" fan I was using while sleeping and being on low it blows out much more air while sleeping. Planning on getting another one for the Living Room. The power it has from what I've seen and felt from the higher speed it has I'm pretty sure it'll work good enough one the 3rd speed I'll be able to cut the Central Air off or set it at 60 and the Living Room can and could be kept pretty cool. Just got to be careful and have something to hold the Fan when having it at top speed. For that type of a Stand Up it's being the best on have ever have had, and I Love it having a Remote Control with it :) Love it very much but hope it can and will last for years like my old one is and still worked for 10 years. This new fan isn't that loud unless it's at top speed but not to bad as you I've heard other new fans I've see and heard in most stores I've looked at fans. And Wal-Mart has it cheaper then any where else that shows up when scanning the barcode with my smartphone.

    Well Worth The Money.

    5 out of 5, reviewed on 06.03.2014

I bought this fan because it has the remote. Other places had the same fan but it was more expensive. So I cringed a bit, but decided to get it at Walmart.
I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered it online, as this is the only way I will purchase anything through Walmart. The ordering was extremely easy and I had it shipped to the store. Everything went well and now I have the fan I wanted.
It is a breeze to assemble. No tools required. Relatively easy instructions to follow. Base is sturdy. Blade, base, and fan backside is plastic. Pole, front mesh cover and motor are metal. Fan is relatively quiet with no rattles or strange noise is coming from it. It has 4 speeds. Also, the fan is adjustable in height and has a pivoting head. It doesn't go too far in height, but it is acceptable. The remote is a huge plus. Can stand approximately 20 feet and aim the remote directly at the fan and still operate it. Also, you can operate it from the base, both on/off and fan speed. Remote takes 2 AA batteries. I bought this Lasko fan because my other Lasko fan (cheaper and all plastic) works very well, although it isn't very stylish and has less features. It made it through a year (with 6 months continual use) and still works and is quiet. I hoped this new fan would be better and so far, it is. It looks nicer, has the remote and is more stylish than my previous Lasko fan. I would recommend this fan to my family and friends. Well worth the money.

It pushes a lot of air. Good for a larger room. Even on lowest setting.. it is too loud for me to use in the bedroom though... and that's where I had planned on putting it. So I am a little disappointed.. but it is still a good fan.

This fan is excellent for the hot summer days. Shoots out plenty of breeze. The highest speed is very very strong. Also perfect for extracting cool air from an AC. Adjustable height is very useful. A big plus is also that it can be easily taken apart for storage. Worth the price!

This fan is very powerful even in low and noisier than what you may want for a bedroom fan. The 4 power levels and remote are great and it works fantastic for a larger living space (i.e. living room).

Great fan but the stand is horrible.

    3 out of 5, reviewed on 02.21.2014

    3

The fan itself is really good. Blows plenty of air on all 4 settings, however the stand is terrible! The assembly of this fan is ridiculously easy as there really isn't much to it. I would also say this is a one room fan as you don' want to pick it up and try to move it as it will come apart. The fan stand from the motor to the on/off switch is plastic and it sits on the steel pole only about 3 inches. The plastic nut that tightens and loosens to adjust the height is not suitable to hold the weight of the fan so the fan slips back down, which is probably good as it's liable to fall over with it only sitting on the pole so shallow (you would think it would sit on it farther down to be more stable). The plastic is very cheap and could break with the slightest ease. The fan is heavy enough that it leans forward slightly. When you turn the fan on the 4th/highest setting, it's so powerful it blows the fan backwards to actually stand straight. I would NOT recommend this fan for households with pets or small children as the smallest bump could easily tip the fan over onto them. I do have pets in my house so I keep it at it's lowest height. We live too far away from walmart to make a trip to return it. My husband can make a better stand for it. The fan blades themselves are plastic. The back grill of the fan is plastic and the front grill is metal. The remote is a nice addition but in order to use it, you really need to point it directly at the fan. The oscillation feature is not controlled by the remote, it's just like any other oscillating fan where it has the button on motor that you pull up or push down. Overall, the fan itself is great, it has loads of power. It's not the quietest fan but it's fine for me as I cannot stand dead quiet. Lasko dropped the quality standards on this one with the crummy stand. It has potential to be a five star fan if they would fix the stand to be sturdy.

    Great for hot days

I ordered two of these fans and they are quite powerful. Very easy to assemble. My only complaint is the top of the fan just sits on the stem and if you pick the fan up by the upper portion, it will come off. You must carry from the lower portion of the stem. There should be a way to secure the upper portion.

I live in Arkansas and my air conditioner just busted. The only way I can survive at the moment is because of this fan. It get's a great breeze going through my house with minimal noise and I love it! I'm actually planning on getting another for another part of the house. The remote control will be helpful when I've got a/c again, but for the time being, the top setting is working perfectly! I'd definitely recommend this fan to anyone!

Great Fans For Drowning Out Outside Noises

    5 out of 5, reviewed on 04.07.2014

    5

I ordered two of these fans the other day! I wanted high velocity fans as they're really great about canceling out outside noise's, as in street noise, traffic, loud talkers and the annoying loud kids and their ragged plastic rides and the annoying battery powered toy cars, three wheelers etc, riding on the side walk in front of my apartment about 12 feet at least from my living room and bedroom windows. I'm very sensitive to sound, can hear things most people don't hear! For me, it's tortuous to have to listen to stuff that shouldn't be going on, and it to be so bad as to not be able to watch my movie's because of the noise's! I use fans to cancel out the noise! I station the fans in front of the windows and doors, that's where the noise comes in. I run the fans on high and to be fair about it, it's not loud enough! Some people who wrote comments on it said, these fans where too loud! I actually own four of these fans and plan to buy one more! Two fans in the living room and kitchen blocks most outside noise's, but it only muffles those who don't follow the law on loud thumping music or in my opinion noise, from these cars and trucks! I've gotten noise reduction drapes, doesn't reduce much noise! Moving is out of the question, limited amount of income prevents that option. I wasn't raised in a noisy environment, we were raised where its quiet, we could hear ourselves think, read a book, work on crafts that sort of thing. It's bad when people have to go to such extremes to calm down, lower the stress levels because management and the world has no respect for other people's right to the peacefulness of their homes and their sanity. Buy these fans if you're stuck in a loud environment, it's worth every dime, plus if you're lazy, the remote is a great thing too! Now you will have to set fan manually to blow where you want it to blow, the remote is only for on, off, and speed!

I HAVE BEEN USING LASKO FANS FOR MANY YEARS NOW. I DECIDED TO TRY THIS STAND FAN AND I AM VERY GLAD I DID. I PURCHASED 2-ONE FOR MY LIVING ROOM AND ONE FOR MY BEDROOM. I HAVE USED BOTH OF THEM FOR THE PAST TWO WEEKS ON JUST THE 1st SPEED & IT IS TRULY CYCLONIC. I FEEL IT ON LOW EVEN WHEN I AM MORE THAN 6 ft AWAY FROM IT. THE OSCILLATING FEATURE COOLS QUITE A WIDE RANGE. I TOTALLY AGREE WITH ANOTHER REVEIWER, IF YOU DON'T HAVE AN AC..THIS IS DEFINETLY THE NEXT BEST THING
P.S. DON,T BE FOOLED BY THE LIGHTWEIGHT PLASTIC BLADES. I THINK THIS HAS A LOT TO DO WITH HOW FAST THEY SPIN AND GENERATE SO MUCH COOLER AIR.

    really nice fan

I bought this one cause my other fan broke after 8-9 years of having and the motor went out so i went and got this one with no research its a little pricey but i found its worth it the remote feature is a nice convenience especially if you don't feel like getting up it doesn't beep when you turn it on and off or turn the speed up and down if you find that irritating it has 4 speeds 1-4 (lowest-highest)
speeds 1 and 2 are nice and cool ( spins a lot faster than my old one did) 3 is good for a really hot day and well 4 is a twister in your house as for the noise well if you have had a fan before or use one you know how much noise they make it doesn't bother me i cant sleep without noise so if it doesn't bother you this one is for you if it does then its not unless you can adapt to it (its also really light weight the only metal part is the front cover and it has a huge base to keep it from tipping over cause 4 speed almost knocks it back so make room for it I'd say 2-2 1/2 feet wide)

Not as far as I can tell. The remote has one on/off button and one speed button that is pressed repeatedly to change speeds. It is also a line-of-site remote only. But amount of time to run or to shut off or turn on in the future is all done manually by hand at the time you may need it. I just let mine run mostly 24-7 and it is so quiet I don't even notice it.
