    Magic Chef Dryer

    5 out of 5, reviewed on 02.24.2014

Dries much faster than I'd expected and plugs into a standard outlet. Using the high setting, I have dried four heavy long skirts and several towels in about 40 minutes. There is also an auto dry mode that employs a moisture sensor and can be used with the low temperature setting.

The only con that I can see is in the filters that have to be cleaned after each use. (The manual says that the filters must be cleaned before and after each use, which I think is excessive.) The smaller filter is pretty easy to remove and clean, but the filter in the rear of the cabinet is more of a challenge. It consists of two plastic disks that must be pulled out, pried apart, cleaned, and then snapped back together. This is a bit of a hassle for something that must be done with each load.

On the whole, this is a great machine for a single person or a couple. I would definitely recommend it.

I usually dont write reviews about products, but this dryer deserves one. Im so happy i purchased it before it sold out online. The dryer is excellent. Iv dried some above normal loads and it dried perfect. I do have to be mindful of the amount of things like heavy sweaters, but aside from that, its an excellent dryer. Works very well and im shocked at how hot it does get. I actually burned my hand touching the inside of the dryer to check how hot it get and pulled back because it was hot which is excellent in my book. Nice dryer, dries my clothes and i have been bad with cleaning the lint trap after every use and it still dries pretty well. I only wish the dial knob and push button was at the top and not the bottom. Lol

    Good Dryer for small space

    4 out of 5, reviewed on 06.14.2014

I looked all over before I bough this dryer to see if it need to be vented. It does not, but if you are drying with hot air, you will want to vent it out the window. Because it will make the house warm, with the exhaust blowing out hot hair. Great for winter time for additional heat, but not so great for summer. Now if you just fluff dry on cool, no problem without vent. Small compact size is great for small space.

    Good dryer

    4 out of 5, reviewed on 02.28.2014

I purchased this along with a portable washer because I moved into an apartment with no w/d or hookups. I love that it has a normal plug and not the appliance one. This dryer pairs well with the washer I got. (a Haier one) I didn't like that the cord was on the short side. Also, for the smaller size and the fact that it holds less clothes, I expected it to dry a little faster than it does, but it was still well worth the money. It's also very simple to use which is good for my children to learn how to do their own laundry, along with the fact that it's 'just their size'!!

All though my dryer came early and was just left on my door step, it was just what I was looking for, a dryer that fit in a small space and was not a eye sore. My dryer runs quite it was all that I expected it to be, I also have the washer a perfect set for my small kitchen. I am single and have small loads and these fit perfect for my needs. As for my bills you can not tell that I am useing them because they have not gone up and thats a pluse. I encourage you to buy them it is worth the money.

    Awesome Little Life Saver!!!

    5 out of 5, reviewed on 08.23.2014

First off, I must say that I was skeptical. I am a mother of three and a full time student who doesn't have time to hang clothes on the line, to go to the laundry, or get stuck with something I can't use. Could this little machine really do all I needed it too? ABSOLUTELY it can! This is one of THE BEST investments I have made in a long while. The dryer is compact enough to fit just about anywhere and carries more punch than you would expect it to. In one hour I can dry a medium size load of clothes. The overall weight of the machine is about 90 pounds and its super easy to install. Straight out of the box, pop the filter on, plug it in, and your ready to go. It has three different settings a fluff/cool, warm, and hot. The HOT is really hot, not warm. If you are on the fence I highly encourage you to give this thing a shot.

    Great portable dryer

    5 out of 5, reviewed on 07.12.2014

I have only been using it for a couple weeks, but it dries my clothes quickly. I use the hot setting mostly, but you have the options for low medium or cool drying. It is recommended that you empty the lint trap after every use, but I only do it after every couple loads. It actually has room to dry more than what I can wash in my portable washer and that means It will dry faster since it's not overfilled. It was the best value for the money at the Walmart price. Others wanted much more for the same dryer. I found a 3 inch vent hose at Home Depot and I have a 3 inch dryer vent coming to make it even easier to use. I would definitely buy this dryer again.

    Great Little Dryer

    4 out of 5, reviewed on 07.13.2014

This little dryer does an excellent job for my smaller loads. I live alone and generally do not have a lot of laundry at any given time. It meets my needs perfectly. I also have a full size gas dryer and will continue to use it for larger jobs, such as comforters and other heavy laundry drying. My only complaint is the design of the lint/exhaust filter. A more simplified design for ease of use would be preferred.

The magic of the Magic Chef

    5 out of 5, reviewed on 07.04.2015

Having a bad tendency to focus on the negative reviews, I purchased this some what reluctantly. A dryer by a company Magic Chef sounds like a cook doing laundry to me. However to my surprise this dryer has not only been working flawlessly but surpassed all my needs.

It can get extremely hot if you need it too. However it has a air sensor feature that allows it to cool off during drying cycles so you don't have to worry about your clothes shrinking as much or becoming over dry. You can turn this feature on/off if you want.

Also it has a energy saver function and to top it all off it's much quieter than I had thought it would be.

It's small, and has a regular outlet. All of these are great but being skeptical as I was I still purchased the extended care plan, but the price was nice enough to allow for adding that. Most competitor dryers are at least $100 more.

Some people had complained that the lint filter is difficult to get out. However I think they must of have redesigned this because my lint filter is on the fan in the actual unit and comes out quite easily from inside the dryer. There is a second filter on the front but it rarely needs to be cleaned.

My only complaint I can find is the back air vent piece that goes to the aluminum venting system is awkward and small and does not fit the traditional 4 inch diameter hoses in most houses. I had to go buy a special converter and aluminum tape wrap the whole thing to get it to attach. It was a lot of work to install but worth it in the end.

Hope this review helps someone who is on the fence about this.

    Look for a better model

    1 out of 5, reviewed on 10.29.2014

I purchased this dryer based on the brand. However, it was a huge mistake: The timer is archaic and not well thought out and I have to use a separate timer when drying clothes, the lint screen is messy to clean and simply makes no sense at all, the door and catch are so flimsy that I am just waiting for one or both of them to break. Drying even one sheet is a complete waste of time as they twist almost immediately and dryer balls do not help. Back to the timer; when it is set for forty minutes or less, it blows cool air. It is a waste of electricity. If you are looking for cheap, you will get it with this dryer.

Good dryer for a small place & a small family.

    5 out of 5, reviewed on 11.15.2014

I have used the dryer for about 3-4 mos. I have it unvented, in the bathroom over the washer on an Avanti shelf. I unscrewed the legs off the dryer & put it up on the shelf & screwed the legs back on thru the shelf. Keep the dryer lint free! Clean out the 3 filters & the front filter EACH TIME the dryer is used. Pull out the filter, separate the three & use a round lint picker, like you roll on yourself, on the fiber filter. Just roll the thing on the fiber filter & pick the lint out of the rest. Tape will do also. The fiber filter is a piece of interfacing- for those that sew. DON'T PAY MORE! Using some of the strongest heat, it drys in 1.25-1.5x the average time for which is great for a 110 dryer, compared to 220 power. It dries more than the Haier washer 1.0 washes. I hang a lot of clothes out to dry, having dried them a little to get the wrinkles out. Saves ironing. Others I dry thoroughly. Wonderful. Makes less noise that the overhead fan that sucks the humidity from the tub. Have dried jeans, towels, underwear, socks- pillowcases. I wash & dry the QueenS sheets in the commercial; if I had a smaller bed I might use the Haier. I would certainly trust the MC dryer!

    Great Little Dryer

    5 out of 5, reviewed on 06.09.2015

Purchased this along with the 2.6 cuft washer and so far have no complaints. It holds a good amount of clothes and if you separate the heavier items that need more dry time it works out fine. Sheets and undergarments take about 30 minutes to dry and heavier items sometimes an hour. The filter is not hard to clean and I only clean it before drying rather than before and after as the book recommends. Very easy to move around and I vent it near a window and have not had any problems. I love it in combination with the washer. I hope it lasts a long time. Made my life so much easier. High recommend.

I was on the fence for a while and didn't find many reviews other than here. I wish I would have took the leap of faith sooner.... I love it... It holds about 9 lbs of Laundry It meets my needs well. My only complaint is the lint catcher is annoying to clean and you have to do it before each use that's why I gave it 4 stars...

I purchase this dry and I read the reviews, well only the bad ones just to see what they like or didn't like. After I read them I read the good ones, so after some research I decide that I would try this dry. The only thing I have come cross is if you run it for a long period of time, it stops and you have to wait until it cools down. I did buy the warranty. So I would recommend this dry.
