    Schwinn Bike No Good

    1 out of 5, reviewed on 04.10.2015

Bought this bike at Walmart "Ship to Store"so the bike would be fresh out of the box to assemble... Brakes needed to be adjusted, seat was not completely stitched and Knicks and scratches on the paint. I ordered this bike because it was made in America and Schwinn brand is supposed to be quality. What a dissapointment.

I'd give it less than one star if I could!

    1 out of 5, reviewed on 04.03.2015

The assembly directions were minimal, but the bike was easy to assemble without explicit instructions. However the handlebars and the seat would not lock in place even with extensive tightening. We contacted Schwinn who recommended returning the bike to Walmart since they couldn't do anything about the problem. The bike is very pretty but also very unsafe to ride with the unstable handlebars and seat. It will be returned ASAP.

    Very low quality, arrived damaged

    1 out of 5, reviewed on 10.19.2014

This bike arrived in a huge box, looked like right off the boat from china.

Multiple parts were damaged. Hub was bent. One spoke was bent. Tires were lopsided. Back derailler badly bent. Paint scratched in multiple places.

The box was actually in good shape, so I bet it could have actually been much worse. But there was basically no packaging inside, no insulation. No wonder everything was damaged.

Many parts are cheap plastic - the seat, the pedals, the ends of the handlebars.

    Happy With Purchase

I bought this as a gift for my girlfriend. She is very happy with the bike. I bought it assembled at Wal Mart. The guy putting the bicycles was very knowledgeable on bicycles. This was bought at the Mishawaka, IN Wal Mart. I will defiantly recommend this Wal Mart to others looking for a bicycle.

    Great quality, comfort and style

    5 out of 5, reviewed on 04.09.2015

I bought this bike as a gift for my sister and liked it so much, I immediately ordered a second one for myself. The bike is beautiful in person - even nicer than the online photos. It's a Schwinn so the quality is consistent and reliable. Both orders were done with in-store pick up so no assembly was necessary on my part, only the usual minor adjustments for seat height and handlebar comfort.
Gears shift easily and the braking is tight and responsive.
This bike is a joy to ride and its color and styling always garners a lot of attention.
It would be hard to find something of comparable quality in this price range.

    excellent cruiser!!

    5 out of 5, reviewed on 06.05.2015

I love this bike! It great for cruising the beach/boardwalk but the gears give you the option to take it through town with ease. The gears shift smoothly and its handles hills well. The quality and workmanship is excellent. Only thing is it doesnt come with a basket or pannier bags. But with a seperately boughy basket its been tranformed into my favorite bike of the summer!

    very annoying

    2 out of 5, reviewed on 03.28.2015

Bike was supposed to be assembled for free but instead arrived in pieces with very confusing instructions. There were several chips and scratches in the beautiful paint. The handlebar clamp was too weak to secure the handlebars so I had to take it to a nearby bike store where they found many issues (the clamp was too weak so needed a replacement, the handlebars themselves also needed replacing, and the gear shifter didn't work). I paid $70 out of pocket to have the shop fix all these issues before I could even ride the bike. Very frustrating.

I did however call Walmart customer service and was somewhat reimbursed for my troubles, which I very much appreciate. It is now better built and a great bike though!

    very comfortable bicycle

    5 out of 5, reviewed on 11.07.2014

The seat is very comfortable. The unfamiliar gear shifting system was easy to learn to use. Having seven gears is much better than the older 3 gear system I have used, but not as helpful as the 10 gear system I have also used. I have to get off and walk the bike up the steeper hills in my neighborhood. In my price range, there weren't any 10-speed road bicycles, so I'm happy with this bicycle.

    Good buy for the price!

    4 out of 5, reviewed on 05.06.2015

My cool looking beach cruiser with it's seven speeds is perfect for traveling short or long distances. The bike is really built solidly and has alot of nice features like a cushy seat that's easily adjustable, removable front wheel for hauling in a car or hatchback and the rear bike rack is great for hauling groceries. All in all the bike is a good buy for the price!

I like to ride slow so people can see my bike. ;)

    5 out of 5, reviewed on 05.03.2015

I love my bike, named it Absalon. I did many searches on the internet for reviews and details before buying it . I almost gave up when reading the few bad reviews but I'm here to attest those are most likely contributed to individual Walmarts and bike assemblers. Mine came with no scratches or bends, to be honest a few minute scratches but that is excepted as nothing comes perfect anywhere. This coming from someone who will search the shelf for the most perfect item out of the bunch.
Most reviews are a 4 or 5 and for good reason, it's a good bike.

I called to have it assembled, free of charge. I rode it in the parking lot before leaving, and made sure everything was put together right. Breaks were smooth, I have to get use to the gear shifting though.

It is gorgeous and I found a basket that matches the rims, lots of compliments. There are details on the fenders and sides you can't see, might be stickers but they are pretty. Note I'm 5'2 and I can't quite reach the ground when sitting, so I do a bit of hopping and balancing to get started when riding.

Hope it last a long, and I will update if anything comes up worth mentioning. I plan to take it to my school's bike shop in a few weeks to get is professionally looked at.

Questions and Asnwer for 26 Schwinn Fairhaven Women's 7-Speed Cruiser Bike, Cream

  • Paulaj
If I pick this bike up in the store, will it be assembled?
    Asked on 04.12.2015

    • pretensed

If a bike you buy at the store is in stock, it will already be assembled. If you order online and have it shipped site to store, depending on the store, you can request the store to assemble it. Some of the stores don't have that service. Call the particular store ahead of time and find out if they do before you order. You might find a store a bit further away that does and have it shipped there. IF you have it shipped home, you're on your own.
