    A lot for a little

It appears that T-Mobile is the only company that has a smart phone that has a "per minute" plan and has WIFI with no extra charges. I bought this phone as a spare for the kids to use when they go out. So far it works well. I have not used all the functions yet so this review is limited. The only issue I have with this phone is the ringing volume. On the lowest setting it can be too loud for some people. It may be the ring tone itself but all the on board tones sound too loud for me. The phone is all plastic but feels sturdy enough -maybe not for some back pockets. Everything is GOOGLE based on this phone so you need to like using GOOGLE apps. Using the touch screen keyboard takes getting used to -especially if you have big fingers. With any product like this you should see it in person first.

I purchased this phone as a temporary phone. This is the first day of use, but I can say that this phone seems to be very good priced under $40. The SIM card comes with the phone along with instructions on how to set it up and begin use. Since we already have T-Mobile service, the SIM card in the pack with the phone will have to be set up for use with our existing phone number. This should be a snap once we call T-Mobile customer service. I also think this phone is a great buy for a smartphone for children who are just starting to use a mobile device. It's a great Android phone with Google Play which is why I selected this item. I would buy this for anyone looking for a simple smartphone at an affordable price!!

I bought this for my 70 year old mom. She is not tech savvy. Plus we didn't go for the monthly service plan. Instead we transfer her flipped phone pay as you go SIM card number to use with this phone. We don't need to pay every month as this is pay as you go. It's fantastic.

Bought two, and then drove to T-mobile shop to activate them as replacements to current cellphones. One user is a teenager who uses all the features (phone, music, internet surfing, etc). The other user is an 84 year young gentleman with hearing aids, and this phone is compatible to his devices. Next steps? Get the teen to help Granda learn to "tap" , "swipe", pinch etc.

Finally, a smartphone that you can use without a big monthly payment. T-Mobile has a decent smartphone that can be used with our existing plan, which includes only talk and text (no data). However, it's a WiFi phone, which means that you can do all your online stuff as long as you have a WiFi connection. Enabling WiFi calling may require you to call T-Mobile (you need a 911 address activated with them or you will get REG90, "Unable to Connect") but once that is done, you have a great phone for a low price and low monthly charges.

Okay, let me start by saying... You can't beat the price for this phone! I bought this phone as a temporary cell and ended up keeping it. Wow, I'm so impressed. I'm not into spending hundreds on a phone and I have no complaints with this tmobile cell. I use the Internet and apps on a daily and love it.

    This is a hidden gem!!!!

We'll you get what you pay for . At this price what would you expect . Phone gets bad reception, people can't hardly hear you. Has no way to change settings so pictures and music will automatically store to sd card. You got to go to file manager and copy and paste items to memory card because storage gets full on phone fast with only a little over 1gb of storage. Also no way in settings to stop the phone from vibrating in your ear when placing and ending a call. And finally texts are sent as sms not mms so you are most of the time forced to send two messages instead of one. Don't like the phone at all.. Had to get a cheap phone fast because my smartphone was stolen, so this phone is a good phone only to use in an immediate need while waiting to purchase a better quality high end smartphone.

I do have Nokia Cell phone, which is great. However, I need to charge the battery everyday (even if you do not use it). This is why I decided to switch to T Mobile ZTE Zinger. The battery stay much longer, and the phone is really good. The only critic that I have is the memory. No like Nokia (8 GB), this one has only 2 GB. With few apps, you are done. I am not a game person, so I just put very few apps that I need.

So Much Better than my old Windows Mobile Phone

    4 out of 5, reviewed on 01.01.0001

I'm so glad to have this nice modern Android-based phone. It was impossible to get Google Voice or easily make internet based calls w/my old Windows Mobile Phone. This phone sets you up to have the option of automatically switching to WIFI when available so that you don't use minutes as quickly and it works with Google Voice apps too.
It's sort of like a tablet style phone answering system which takes adjustment for the unfamiliar. The phone is for the average tech savy set, but like most Android phones takes adjusting for those less acquainted.
Note that the screen is capacitive. (I don't think that's mentioned in description) You will really want to use a capacitive stylus. (not included and creates a need-to-carry item)
I'd like a bigger, more see-able screen, but there may be settings that I'm not aware of yet.
Also note, that the phone is not MIFI-capable, a feature that you really might want to consider as MIFI will become increasingly the wave of the future.

    Great inexpensive pre-paid Android

    5 out of 5, reviewed on 01.01.0001

The Zinger is by no means the best Android phone on the market. It's no Galaxy S5 slayer. Doesn't lift a candle to any remotely recent iPhone. What it is is a solid low cost Android device that brings decent build quality, stability and performance to the low end of the prepaid market.

It wasn't so long ago that low cost prepaid Android phones were universally horrifying. Slow CPU's, horrible, unresponsive touch screens, ancient Android OS versions, rampant instability and such a small memory that the phone was practically unusable. ZTE addressed many of these concerns. The dual 1.2ghz CPU (a Snapdragon 200) is reasonably zippy, Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat is preloaded, and there's about 1.25GB free out of the box, so there's actually room to load some apps and take some pics before the onboard storage is tapped out. Stability is good. I've been using it for about two weeks and have yet to reboot it. The plastic build is unabashedly cheap and plain but feels solid in the hand. If I were told the display is gorilla glass I'd believe it.

Obvious corners were cut to achieve the low outright price. The 3.5" display is nothing to write home about. The 2 MP camera does little more than fulfill the Google requirement that a camera ,exist in the phone. There's no LED flash and no front camera. No LTE. But it retails so cheap these omissions can be overlooked, especially with how well the basic functionality works.

Go in with reasonable expectations and you'll be (very) pleasantly surprised.

Temporary replacement for a lost phone. A+

    5 out of 5, reviewed on 01.01.0001

My wife lost her Galaxy phone a week ago and after searching everywhere she just needed something to be able to communicate with. So I stopped by Walmart and picked this up for 20 bucks. No kidding - it really is 20 bucks! For a smartphone! With a camera, GPS, WiFi, 4G and all the rest. That's insane - I don't know how they can do that!!

The phone itself is only okay. It's a smartphone running stock Android but it runs it well. I opened it up and explained the phone loss to T-Mobile and after verifying I was who I said I was they asked for the SIM number in the box. Yes, it comes with a $15 sim card too! I gave the lady the number and she transferred my wifes account to that number. I inserted it, booted the phone and all of a sudden old missed texts came flooding in. I entered her Google info and in 3 minutes she was synced with all her old contacts too!

The camera stinks but it is there. The keyboard on screen is tiny but it works. The screen is also small and a bit dim but it works fine. The phone is stripped down which is great - there's not much junk apps preinstalled. It has Google Play and the ability to use most basic apps.

This is a great phone for $50. For $20 it's a freaking steal! I didn't mind buying it just to have around as a backup if one of our phones is ever lost or broken. Right now my wife will use it until I find a good deal on an S5 or G3 or something like that for her. For 20 bucks I just cannot believe what all you are getting. If you need a temporary phone, backup phone or just something simple then this is it. And you can get it for your current T-Mobile service too... it DOES NOT have to be used with a prepaid account. It can be, but it can just be switched out with your current T-Mobile phone by putting your sim card in it. If you are rocking an old beat up phone that is barely usable then this is affordable and usable while you wait to get that next upgrade down the road. Great deal!
